The VW T25 was first introduced in 1979, being manufactured in Hanover until 1990 when production took place in South Africa until the end of 2002. The T25 began life with an air cooled engine, like it’s predecessor the T2 Bay Window, with a 1600cc and 2.0 engine, moving to a 1.9/2.1 water cooled version and also 1.6/1.7 diesel & turbo diesel.
We’ve seen quite a number of T25’s looking for new interiors recently and this one was no exception. This is one we have just completed here at Kustom Interiors so I thought i’d share it with you…

Ned was purchased as a birthday Surprise for Diane’s partner, they had an original Bay window many years ago and as a birthday present Diane purchased the T2, got it renovated and brought it to us for Ned’s interior.
We met Ian and his wife in 2014 at the Busfest VW show, their camper has been undergoing restoration. We just love the colour and I think once it’s all fully restored it’s going to be a real head turner and potentially a show winner. They have put a lot of thought into the whole restoration and we love the upholstery that Ian has chosen.
Kustom Interiors are really pleased to unveil their new logo….it’s been a while in the making – having been in busy for over 10 years, our brand and image are extremely important to us, and therefore, the logo is as important.
We wanted to keep the retro feel, retain the “quality” aspect but ultimately celebrate our 10 years in business and to take us forward for another 10 years!
We’d like to thank Jack (Kevin Cooper) at Sleepless ink for all his help in designing the logo for us
Kate and Graham, one of our first Cornish customers, came to us with a really different idea for the finish on their interior. A lacquered wallpaper finish…..
Now i’m not sure this had even been done before, and when Kate showed me a sample, we were blown away with it!
Anyway, over 5 years later, this custom bay window is turning heads and indeed the editor of VW Camper and Commercial Magazine and in July (issue 93) their bus, Jessie, was featured.
Kate and Graham sent us a lovely message and recommendation, which you can read on our recommendations page
We had a lovely call from Karen over at Volkswagen Camper and Commercial Magazine to let us know that we have a bus featured in this month’s magazine.
Although now enjoyed by new owners Martin and Tamsin, it’s a 1969 Danbury Bay we did back in 2011/12! And wow does it still look in pristine condition!
According to David’s article the camper was built in late 1969 as a standard microbus finished in Savanna beige and shipped to Danbury Uk, being registered as a camper in 1970…
43 years and 13 owners later and various colour changes, you can read about this beautiful bay window in this month’s Volkswagen Camper and Commercial magazine feature.
Thank you to current owners Tamsin and Martin for mentioning Kustom Interiors, to our original customer Ben for using our services and to Camper and Commercial magazine for such an excellent write up as usual.
