St David’s in Pembrokeshire Wales

If you are heading south towards Cardigan Bay and onto St David’s the next day and need a campsite to stay then we can highly recommend the Cardigan Camping and caravan site.

We have stayed here a number of times and I cannot fault the cleaniness and the clearly marked pitches.

 

It is on a working farm, but dogs on lead are welcome.  They have a dog field for exercising but it’s a nice walk to Cardigian Bay from the site, although we have been too walked out by the time we arrive to actually make that walk.

Facilities are clean and tidy and modern.  There’s a laundry room and wash-up area as well.  Prices are competitive too.

Our next stop from here is St David’s, there is something about a walk around this place that gives you a sense of peace, even when the town is bustling.  A stop at the local pub, the Bishops, with its beer garden backing towards the cathedral, for a spot of welsh rarebit for lunch.

Great if you want to keep your full width rock and roll bed.  Can we made to specific measurements.

Available in different finishes including Real wood veneer oak and Walnut, and other colours – customise your campervan in style and quality.

These are prebuilt, so no self assembly.  We will have a limited stock to buy at Stanford Hall VW Show in May and at Busfest in September.

Electric cars are filling the roads thick and fast… a neighbour round the corner has an electric point at home and we even have an electric point in the local Carpark in #Camelford – so when I noticed this review by Keith Adams for Parkers, and being a Volkswagen, I thought i’d check it out.

Technology is moving at a rapid pace and pretty soon, the commercial market is going to be on the radar of these car designers.

£3 for a 120 mile journey would certainly help in today’s economy and help those businesses affected by the ever increasing cost of diesel prices at the pump.

Not to mention when they start to look at electric for Motorhomes – what a dream it would be to drive up to Scotland on £15 worth of fuel…

I know its not a camper related story, but its a VW after all, so I thought i’d share Keith’s article…

In response to local concerns the Cornwall Council are looking to ban overnight campervans in more of Cornwall Council car parks according to their website.

There is already a ban in place in a number of their carparks and the 2019 Off-Street Parking Order covering letter suggests extending the overnight motorhome prohibition to the following car parks:

  • Cobweb, Boscastle
  • Viewing Point South, Bude
  • Porthrepta, Carbis Bay
  • Downderry Broadsyard, Downderry
  • Pendennis Point, Falmouth
  • The Dell, Falmouth
  • Readymoney, Fowey
  • Fairground, Helston
  • Link Road, Padstow
  • Long Rock
  • Wherrytown, Penzance
  • Porthtowan Beach, Porthtowan
  • Visitor Centre, Tintagel

We have a growing number of motorhomes and camper visiting Cornwall every year and reports from various forums suggest that “Wild camping” is becoming more popular.

Although I understand the need to restrict overnight parking, I am hoping that the use of height restrictions is not used as it can be difficult enough to find parking space big enough for campers and motorhome in tourist spots as it is.

Having completed a Fiat Ducato conversion a few years back, Kustom Interiors embarked on a new project a Citroen Relay conversion from a panel van to full campervan.

 

This Citroen Relay conversion from panel van to campervan, included; full insulation, carpet lining, glazing to side and to rear doors, full roof rack, rear ladder and cycle carrier, internal camper conversion: fully insulated and carpeted, 12v lighting, Heatsource gas/electric heating, full size custom bed with storage under, large wardrobe unit, large capacity compressor fridge, sink/hob and lots of storage.  Twin swivel seats facing a double bench seat with table and side table for drinks etc. The list goes on, but what an amazing conversion for a lot less then a branded camper or motorhome.

Paul wanted a storage unit for the rear of his Volkswagen T6 however you could have this designed as a VW T6 rear kitchen.

We have manufactured many interiors where the customer has designed their own units.  Kustom Interiors manufactured units for Paul’s brothers van a VW crafter and he liked what he saw and placed an order for this custom storage unit.
